The basic structure of an informative essay is very simple and easy to follow. Like most types of essays, the informative essay will consist of the basic format of four to five paragraphs. These five paragraphs will include the introduction, two to three supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Conclude an essay with one or more of the following:
- Include a brief summary of the paper's main points.
- Ask a provocative question.
- Use a quotation.
- Evoke a vivid image.
- Call for some sort of action.
- End with a warning.
- Universalize (compare to other situations).
- Suggest results or consequences.
How to Write an Informative Essay?
- Introduction – introduce the importance of the topic and write down a thesis statement.
- Body – provide arguments in support of the statement.
- Conclusion – generalize the arguments from the previous parts of the essay, restate a thesis, without introducing any new ideas.
